The governing body of the Bayou Lafourche Band of Biloxi-Chitimacha Indians is the Tribal Council, as established by Article IV of our Constitution. The Council is composed of registered voting members who have been duly elected by the community to serve four-year terms.
The Tribal Council is vested with the legislative powers of the Nation and is empowered to decide issues affecting the tribal community, maintain the official membership roll, manage tribal assets, and pass resolutions necessary for the common welfare of our people.
Quincy Verdun
As the elected leader and official spokesperson for the Nation, the Chief presides over all meetings of the Tribal Council and holds the executive authority to oversee all tribal programs, services, and activities. The Chief is constitutionally charged with negotiating on behalf of the tribe, providing for the protection of all tribal records and assets, and ensuring the enforcement of all tribal laws and ordinances for the common welfare of the people.
Jerrica Cheramie
The Deputy Chief serves as a key advisor and assistant to the Tribal Chief, prepared to assume all duties and responsibilities of the Chief in their absence. This role is essential for ensuring the continuity of our government, providing steadfast leadership and presiding over the Tribal Council to maintain the seamless operation of the Nation's affairs.
Jimmy Billiot
The Secretary is the official custodian of all historic, legal, and administrative records of the Nation. This vital role includes the constitutional duty to record and keep all official meeting minutes, maintain the accuracy of the tribal membership and voter rolls, and ensure all public records are available for inspection. The Secretary is fundamental to the preservation of our history and the transparent operation of our government.
Donna Darda
The Treasurer is entrusted with and accountable for all the finances of the BLBBCI. Fulfilling the constitutional duty to safeguard the Nation's economic well-being, the Treasurer records and deposits all funds, reports on all receipts and expenditures at every regular meeting, and maintains correct and transparent accounts of all tribal properties and business transactions.
Eric Verdin
The Parliamentarian upholds the integrity of our legislative process by advising the Tribal Council, committees, and members on the proper rules of governance. As mandated by the Bylaws, the Parliamentarian ensures that all meetings are conducted in a fair, orderly, and efficient manner that is consistent with our Constitution and the established rules of order.

The Tribal Warden is responsible for maintaining order and security during all official meetings of the Tribal Council. This role is essential for ensuring that tribal business can be conducted in a safe, respectful, and tranquil environment. The Warden's duties include assisting the Chief in keeping order and managing the physical setup of meeting halls.
